Guild Literary Complex

Brand Identity, Creative Direction + Media System

I led the development of a refreshed visual identity and implementation system for Guild Literary Complex, a Chicago literary arts organization with a long history of supporting writers, performers, and community-based storytelling.

As creative director and brand systems lead, I developed the visual identity while helping the organization translate the new look into usable tools for staff, collaborators, photographers, videographers, and public communications.

The Challenge

Build a brand system that preserves the organization’s institutional history while giving it a more contemporary, flexible, and consistent public presence.

The Approach

I developed a visual system that clarified the relationship between the logo, icon, color palette, typography, event graphics, media direction, and digital templates. The goal was not only to create a new look but also to make it practical for a small nonprofit team to use across print, digital, social, web, photography, and video.

The Outcome

Build a brand system that preserves the organization’s institutional history while giving it a more contemporary, flexible, and consistent public presence.
